Do You Like Rocks?

We were driving when we saw this little store....somehow we all decided to stop by. This store sells rocks, rocks, and more rocks...........
In the store were boxes and shelves of rocks, and outside were piles of rocks everywhere.

Mormon Trail Center

Just in case you dont know where we went by looking at the picture and title...we went to the mormon trail center. This was fun, the museum is built where the pioneers were at winter quarters..and across from the museum was the cemetery. Not to far from that is the mormon bridge so here is a picture of that as well.

Fire!!

On one of the highways we saw a sign saying speeds were going to slow down because we were going through a fire zone. We were kinda shaken everything around us was burned and smoking in some places. We also saw a helicoptor dropping stuff on the fire.
we later went to a restraunt for lunch and discovered one of the helicoptors had blown up and two died and two in critical condition..most helicoptors do not help fires anymore.
Fyi the restraunt we were at was amazing it is called the wrangler in custer s dakota

 I am so jealous. The land where we have been has been pretty flat, mountains are so pretty, and the sunsets are amazing

Wind Power!!!!!!!

Wind turbines are eveywhere :P People here leave signs around saying that wind power creates more clean energy.

Old Town

Store

 Me and mom visited a little old town by one of our hotels in Keystone South Dakota. We visited one of the original stores and it had some of the coolest things (i mean look at the picture of the boat light fixture...it was really detailed in real life) At the store we bought some things and the man who owned the store only charged us a dollar and when he gave us change we discovered that he was the cash register (he had a big wad of cash in his pocket lol)

Busy at Mt Rushmore

 <-Parker ending up getting interviewed by a news crew who was also up at Mt Rushmore. (since mom wanted one of us to do it) and it was the 4th of July so a lot of people were there.

 Mom was talking to George Washington...and then making a spot for her face on Mt Rushmore.

And last of all Roosevelt was sitting by us during lunch...and was sitting around in an air conditioned building drinking his coke.

 Well guys here are our mt rushmore pictures!! I liked this..we were able to be really close to the mountain..and there was an indian in the woods by the mountain that was playing a flute....and things were cheaper here lol.
The details were cool...but we noticed a picture of what the designer wanted the finished mt rushmore to look like...and it is not finished, George is supposed to have a coat with cool buttons, and abe be holding his jacket. It was still cool :)

Well we went to Crazy Horse and sadly...no wheelchairs were allowed....sadly we tried sneaking dad in but got caught so we had to leave him with security....on our way to Mt Rushmore we realized we forgot him...we went back to get him but he wasnt there.

 Ok I know everyone knows crazy horse is not finished..but it was still really really cool!! Did you know three mt rushmore's can fit in crazy horse's head!!!!! Sadly we missed seeing a blasting (we found out they were doing one the day after we went there) The detail is amazing, and well......just so detailed. The only negative part is everything was pretty expensive...and you could have gotten a little more for your money. (in our opinion)

Martins Cove

 We were able to stop and see devils gate, it was so peaceful and nice there. We also wandered up and found a grave, they do not know much about the person but it was still a very neat experience.


We went after they closed so we did not get to see much, but it was still fun to go and feel the peace there, and see the missionaries hard at work maintaining the site.

Cool Hotel Bad Internet Connection

One of our hotels (which we stayed in for two days)...was awesome with towel swans, a hot tub in your room, and cool wallpaper.......but it had bad connection to the web...so sorry i missed two days of blogging.

We Were Pretty Bored In The Car

we went through one tunnel no bridges and we saw license plates from: utah alaska wyoming texas (mom thinks texas is spelled with two s's "texass"? montana oregon colorado ontario pennsylvania indiana ohio idaho delaware and the weirdest (we think) was hawaii......

yesterday we drove 418 miles.....just fyi

Wow!!!!!!Have we been in the sun that long......oh wait..someone (rich) decided to dye his hair a warm blonde color. I have to say it makes him look quite young...but he is in denial that he himself chose to dye his hair. (He tries to blame it on my mother and myself)

Well we said farewell to our pets...and we hope they remember us when we get back :) Thank you so much to my moms father and mother (and her brother and sister in law and their kids who are in town visiting) for taking care of Luigi, and to our amazing neighbors who are taking care of Miss Kitty! We can only hope they behave:) but......heres an apology in advance ;) And thank you so much to our other neighbor who is taking care of my turtles.....i wish her the best of luck with them :)
